FINAL FORMS AND PHYSICALS!!! Here are a couple important reminders that everyone should get a jump on NOW! Parents/Guardians MUST make sure your Final Forms account has been updated for the 2025-2026school year. All Forms must be signed, and your student must be registered in their sports team. Physicals must be current and online in the Athletics office.

Reminder that the football/cheer camp will be held Tuesday, July 22 - Thursday, July 24. The camp will be from 6pm-8pm. Football players will meet at the GV football field and cheerleaders will meet at the fieldhouse. If you have not signed your son/daughter up for the FREE camp there is still time. Just visit the GVgridironclub.com website to register. Whether or not your registered for regular season football/cheer you must be registered separately for the camp and need to be registered to attend camp.

The Final Day of Cheer Camp was intense! First, members who were nominated for All-American from the first two days of camp participated in an optional tryout for The All-American Team and Medallion. Scores for the tryout are based on the quality of jumps, entrance/tumbling/enthusiasm, motion technique, memory, spirit/voice projection/expression, and their overall impression and performance. This tryout is judged by NCA qualified counselors and performed in front of the ENTIRE camp. Of the 14 GV members who were nominated, 3 received this prestigious award! Congratulations to Emma P, Violet M, and Julienne M for making the All-American Team! Next, the team received a blue Superior Ribbon for their Cheer performance- making all the practice worth it! The team also competed for the Top Team Band Chant, Top Team Chant and the Top Team Cheer, which earned them the trophy for TOP TEAM CHANT! Other awards that were earned by the Grand Valley HS Cheerleaders were- The SPIRIT STICK for consistent enthusiasm, and uplifting support of others. S.T.A.Y. S.A.F.E. Award for excellent skills in spotting and stunt technique. The HERKIE TEAM Award and Plaque for leadership, values, teamwork and sportsmanship. The HERKIE TEAM Award to Coaches Juker and Greathouse. The TECHNICAL EXCELLENCE Award for efforts and focus on proper motions technique. The CONGENIALITY AWARD to Coach Greathouse for contributing greatly to the positive atmosphere at camp. The OUTSTANDING ROOKIE Award to Coach Juker for her 2nd year at NCA camps. Coach Juker and Greathouse also received certification for VARSITY SPIRIT/NFHS SQUAD CREDENTIALING and COACHING CREDENTIALS. This team is so impressed by the summer cheer program offered by the National Cheerleading Association at Thiel College, run by Randy Burnett, and especially the one on one coaching we received from our mentor, Molli! We are looking forward to the upcoming season! Go Mustangs! 💙🤍

Day 2 of Cheer Camp theme was "We're All In!" so GV went All In for Hawaiian Day! The team prepared a Chant and Band Chant routine for evaluations where they earned their first Superior ribbon! They also learned a new Spirit Dance, Poms Dance and Hip-Hop Dance before learning more stunt skills. Grand Valley High School Cheerleading squad completed day 1 of their summer cheer camp at Thiel College. The cheerleaders have learned new chants, cheers and band chants, in addition to leadership classes, news stunts and pyramids. This team is moving out of their comfort zone and stepping onto the mat where core memories are being made!

ATTENTION Grand Valley Alumni and High School Football Families - SAVE THE DATE! Friday August 8th, the Grand Valley Gridiron Club will host an Alumni BBQ followed by our inaugural Media Night. 6-8pm., we invite any and all GV football alumni to attend our BBQ. Our goal is to provide the opportunity for our athletes to meet and mingle with you and give them the opportunity to request your permission to wear your former uniform number. Come toss some balls, play cornhole and enjoy a meal with our team. Please help us by networking and spreading the word - we need a hand in getting the word out to as many alumni as possible! 9pm., families, your athletes will wipe off the bbq sauce, don full pads/uniform and meet you on the 50. You'll have exactly 34 minutes to take any and all photos you want while under the lights.
