This Message is for the Grand Valley students who are enrolled in GV Digital Learning Hi. This is Dr. Winer and I wanted to get the following information to you because I know you are all anxious about getting started. Remote Learning will begin on Tuesday, September 8th. Students in Grades 6-12 do not have to log into their classes before then and they will not be required to make up any work that was assigned prior to September 8th. Students in Grades K-5 will be completely digital, using a program called Edgenuity and after 9/8/20 can log in any time during the day but must log in everyday. Their learning will be monitored by Grand Valley Staff but all instruction is contained in the remote learning program. Additional information will be provided when you pick up your device. Students in Grades 6-12 will be using a hybrid learning model meaning they will follow their schedules, which we will be getting to them, and logging in to their teachers' Google classrooms everyday at the scheduled time and completing the assignments online. They must attend each class, every day. Chromebooks will be available for pick up in the HS gym. Please use the outside entrance on the south east side of the gym. Please park in the lot by the football field and follow the signs to the correct door. The dates and times for device pick up are the following: ** Wednesday, September 2nd from 3:00-600 ** Thursday, September 3rd from 7:15 am-9:00 am ** Friday, September 4th from 3:00-6:00 When you pick up the Chromebooks, you will receive: ** Student login information ** Guidelines for Remote Learning ** You will also have an opportunity to complete the Free and Reduced Lunch Application with Mrs. Bower. Please know that student login information is not the same as last year and your student will receive their new logins when you pick up the device. Please check your email on a regular basis for information from me regarding Remote Learning. I will also post information on the GV Website and teh GV School’s Website. Many of you have called my office and I have not returned your calls because there are just too many! Please read what I have emailed you and posted before you call. My email address is: ellen.winer@grandvalley.school. Thank you.

Hello Grand Valley Elementary! Arrival and Dismissal will look different this year, due to COVID-19 and social distancing. Arrival- Parents will not be able to access the elementary drop off area until 9:00 a.m. when the buses leave the elementary complex. The parent drop off line will begin at the STOP sign in the parking area closest to the stadium. Please be patient. Students will begin dismissing from the buses at 8:45 a.m. Students getting off buses will proceed to the following doors: Kindergarten-1st-Main Office Doors,2nd-3rd third grade doors, 4th-5th cafeteria doors. Teachers will be at each door taking the temperature of each child entering the school and to monitor social distancing. After the buses leave, parents will be asked to move forward to the elementary main office doors. ALL students being dropped off by a parent will enter the main office doors. No parents are allowed to enter the school. Please have your child wear a mask upon exiting the car. Pickup- Please contact the school office each day by 10:00 a.m. with a note or phone call if your child is getting picked up by you or a family member. Dismissal for pick up riders will be promptly at 2:45. Please use regular communication with the school, this will help us prevent delays in dismissal. Students will be dismissed at 3:00 or when all students have been picked up by their parents for bus dismissal. If you need a car tag, please contact the school office. You must have a car pick up tag by the end of the first week of school. Please be patient and flexible during these changes. Thank you for all of your support. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the school office.
