As part of the American Rescue Plan, additional funds were made available to States for IDEA Section 611 (School-Age Special Education or IDEA Part B Special Education) and Section 619 (Preschool Special Education or IDEA Early Childhood Special Education). These funds are distributed to Ohio’s local education agencies based on population and economically disadvantaged counts. These additional funds will give Ohio LEAs significant additional resources to help address the challenges posed by the pandemic and to continue to meet the needs of preschool and school-age children and youth with disabilities and their families.

Grand Valley Local School District plans to use these funds to purchase instructional supplies and technology equipment for the preschool program, to purchase instructional supplies and technology equipment for our special education students, provide professional development to our teachers and to purchase a van to transport special education students to specialized programs. Grand Valley Local Schools will provide an opportunity for public comment at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 3rd, 2021 in the Board of Education Administration Office at 111 Grand Valley Avenue, Suite A, Orwell, OH  44076.
