Dear Grand Valley Local Schools Families,
As the coronavirus (COVID-19) continues to be of conversation, we would like to remind our families that any communication from our district regarding this topic will be located on the Grand Valley Local School District’s website as well as distributed via email. Visit the district’s website at www.grandvalley.school. All communication will be posted under the NEWS tab of our website.
We continue to be in communication with the Ohio Department of Health (ODH) to seek guidance and recommendation on our schools’ operation.
The ODH has opened a call center to address any questions regarding coronavirus (COVID-19). The call center is opened 7 days a week from 9:00am to 8:00pm. The number to reach them is
1-833-4-ASK-ODH (1-833-427-5634).
There has been a case that appears to be “community spread” in Stark County. The Governor has not given a directive to K-12 education to operate any other way than normal. He did ask the K-12 institutions to prepare to shut down if necessary.
All K-12 Tournaments associated with the Ohio High School Athletic Association (OHSAA) has been limited to specific fan bases that only include administrators that run the tournaments and the athletes and direct family members. Other fans will not be allowed in the facilities. We have one (1) wrestling athlete that is eligible to participate this weekend in Columbus.
Starting tomorrow, March 12, 2020, Grand Valley Local Schools will evaluate every scheduled non-educational event that has a potential to gather larger groups of people. School administration will notify all via email blasts, district website and school call out systems of any upcoming event or schedule changes.
